ANTOFALLA NORTE PROJECT
VIEWS FROM THE ZONE
The mining properties “Mine I” with 2498 ha (6105 m2), “Mine II” with 1500 has and “Mine III” with 1500 ha, totalize 5498 ha. They are located in the North Area of Salar de Antofalla, Los Andes Department, South-West Sector in Salta Province.
OPERATIONS IN COURSE
Works performed up to now are related to our brines sampling in the surface or a shallow depth of 4 m.
Information is still very incipient, however, some significant anomalies has been obtained in Lithium, up to 88 ppm, while Potassium values are really surprising, reaching values that goes over 18.000 ppm.
From a chemical-theoretical point of view, this last data would match Lithium values in the order of 1.200 a 1.800 ppm, since the relation Lithium-Potassium in La Puna salts is in the order of 10 to 15. This is; each Lithium ppm comes with Potassium 10 to 15 ppm and it is used as an indicator in the exploration phase.
Antofalla Salt is located in one of the deepest basins in La Puna, according to geophysical prospection works performed by Bolland Minera SA in this sector of Catamarca Province. The investigation showed deeps up to 500 m.
All samples in the exploratory campaign 2016 carried out by the enterprise are from the free and low depth aquifer and however they have shown some Lithium contents highly anomalous.
For its geographical location as long as for the geo-chemical anomalies seen, Antofalla is shown as one of the projects with best expectations to be explored in depth.
From a point of view merely theoretical, but based in this firm experience, and evaluating numerous projects more or less similar, it is possible to establish for a well organized exploration the following parameters.
IMAGES OF THE TAKE OF SAMPLING
While there are salts with high Li and K contents in the surface, most of them show values more consistent in the samples that come from aquifers semi-confined at depths higher to 20 m.
